This material can even be used at high tension at service temperatures of up to 250°C. PAI semi-finishes products have a higher pressure and impact resistance than most other technical plastics. A very low thermal expansion coefficient, high load capacity, and wear resistance ensure long-lasting and reliable products. PAI is an amorphous material and should be stored in a dry place. If high chemical and hydrolysis resistance are required, another material should be chosen. PAI is also known as TORLON® and is available in the following manifestations.

This material has added graphite and PTFE resulting in a higher wear resistance and lower sliding friction coefficient than TORLON 4203 + 4503. It demonstrates excellent dimensional stability across a wide range of temperatures. It is especially suitable for use in dry-running sliding elements, gaskets, bearing cages, and more.

This type is 30% glass-fibre reinforced and suited to parts with high continuous static loads at higher temperatures. The material (glass fibres!) tends to wear the mating surface.
Looking for a material with a combination of electrostatic discharge (ESD), high strength, and thermal stability? Then this is the one for you! Semitron® ESd 520HR! This new ESD material is ideal for producing carriers, bushings, and contactors for test equipment and other components used for handling structural elements. Semitron® ESd 520HR‘s most important quality is its unique resistance to dialectical breakdowns at high voltages (>100 V). With normal carbon fibre reinforced materials, conductivity increases irreversibly if subjected to even slight tension. Only Semitron® ESd 520HR maintains its original electrical properties under all tensions while also offering the required mechanical strength for demanding applications.
