Its outstanding properties include a high continuous service temperature and a notably high creep strength in a wide range of temperatures. Because of its amorphous molecule structure, PSU is translucent and has a slightly yellowish transparency. High dimensional stability and a very good hydrolysis resistance complete its profile. PSU is often used in the food processing industry and for medical engineering components that need to be repeatedly cleaned and sterilised. Nowadays it is used to replace stainless steel in many applications as PSU is seven times lighter. Service temperature limit in air: continuously 150°C.
